Music Raised On: The only music I remember from an early age is marching around the house to "76 Trombones". I actually ended up playing the trombone but gave it up in middle school. This was about the same time I developed a real interest in pop music and found that most of the bands I liked didn't have anything close to a trombone player. I quickly progressed from Def Leppard, Duran Duran, and Billy Idol, to bands like Echo & The Bunnymen, The Police, and New Order.

Commentary: Since high school my taste in music has grown considerably. This experiment is a concern because so much of my available listening time must be dedicated to the task vs. hearing new things or simply playing something other than the next song in the list. Ultimately the 2006MIX will help us decide what songs can be cut loose. I just hope this doesn't turn into a chore that makes me loathe my own collection.
